Zonta Columbus celebrates with Joan Zuber, a 53-year member
On August 11th, Columbus Zonta Member Joan Zuber celebrated a milestone birthday. We won't divulge her exact age, but she has been a Zontian since 1967! Her active membership represents 53 years of giving and helping women in Central Ohio and around the world.
Her Zonta sisters didn't want Joan's birthday to pass without acknowledging and celebrating Joan. Due to Covid, a normal celebration was out of the question. So, the Zonta Club of Columbus organized a Birthday Car Parade complete with banners, balloons, and streamers. Over twenty Zontians gathered and decorated their cars and proceeded in a parade line to Joan's house. With horns blaring and voices singing, we celebrated Joan while she watched from her front porch. We stepped out of our cars long enough to sing a heart-felt happy birthday to Joan and to wish her a very happy day.
Thank you Joan for being such an inspiration to all of us and to the community you love and serve.
